Sesame oil has a high tolerance for heat and can be used for wok dishes and baking, among other things. The nut-like flavour of the oil makes it suitable as marinade for vegetables and as flavour in Asian dressings and salads. Tip: Make an Asia-inspired pointed cabbage salad. Slice the cabbage into small pieces on a mandolin slicer. Toast white sesame seeds on a pan until golden brown. Mix sesame oil, lime juice, freshly grated ginger, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix the dressing with the finely sliced pointed cabbage and decorate with the toasted sesame seeds. Quick and easy.
