Jalostaja Traditional sweet herring is a tasty starter or a good accompaniment to a main course. The skillfully prepared herring, flavoured with ginger and cloves, is exquisite when enjoyed with, for example, rye and malt bread or new potatoes. Jalostaja herring products, made in Finland, are the epitome of Finnish cuisine. The herring used in Jalostaja products are fished sustainably from the northeastern Atlantic and salted according to Finnish herring traditions. The herring are filleted, cut into pieces, seasoned and put into jars by hand in Finland’s only herring factory. The fact that the products are made in Finland is indicated by the Key Flag Symbol, which you can find on every jar.
