Valio smetana has a rich taste and texture. Smetana is made from cream by traditional fermentation, and it is suitable for cold sauces and often served with borscht or blinis. Smetana withstands heating and is also ideal for slow-cook oven and casserole dishes such as stroganoff. Real smetana is also rich in fat, so even a small amount is enough to bring a mellow, rich and aromatic flavour to the plate.
