Hanasaari is a white mold cheese with curd-like texture developed by Helsingin Meijeriliike. The cheese has two characteristics: when young, it is mild and fresh, but when it ripens, it becomes strong-flavored and firm. The surface of Hanasaari cheese is decorated with plant ash under the mold. This evokes the snow-covered coal piles of Hanasaari. All our cheeses are handmade. The cheeses inspired by the Helsinki districts and made using traditional methods.
