Kalamata olives are naturally dark. Their color ranges from brown to dark red. The olive is oval in shape with a pointed tip. A ripe dark olive is soft. It is easy to crush into a dip or spread for bread. Kalamata olives are the perfect topping for a greek salad, but they also taste great on their own or marinated with dried herbs and extra virgin olive oil.
