The Ben & Jerry's story began when two guys started selling ice cream from a refurbished gas station in Burlington, Vermont, in 1978. The ice cream company they founded became as legendary as the ice cream itself. Our ice cream is now known even in remote areas and by hard-to-pronounce names around the world. Ben & Jerry's ice cream is made using Fairtrade-certified sugar, cocoa and vanilla. In addition, ice cream is packaged in sustainable and responsibly produced packaging. The ice cream package should be stored at -18°C or colder. There's probably nothing as iconic as an ice cream jar like Ben & Jerry's ice cream. However, this has not always been the case! In their early years, Ben and Jerry didn't — believe it or not — sell ice cream in jars, but as loose balls. It was originally Ben's idea to try packing delicious ice cream in jars to take home.
