Our stone-free dates are carefully selected from the Tozeur region of Tunesia where date palms grow in the dry subtropical climate of the desert areas. The variety is Deglet Nour, which is especially recognized for a sweet and caramel-like taste as well as a delicious, soft bite. Together, it makes dates a 100% natural snack that tempts both large and small taste buds. The date is a culture plant that has been cultivated for more than 8000 years. It takes 8 years before you can harvest dates from the palm tree, but on the other hand, the date palm has a life cycle that can last up to 100 years. In the Middle East, the sun-ripened dates are harvested in October to November, when the dates have got a nice, yellow-orange color. After the harvest, the dates are pitted.
